Manchester City win sets up grandstand Premier League title final day | UK News
The battle for the Premier League between Manchester City and Liverpool will go down to the last game of the season.
It comes after City beat Leicester City 1-0 through a Vincent Kompany goal to go top of the league, one point ahead of their nearest rivals.
Liverpool are at home to Wolves while City face a trip to Brighton next Sunday when the bid for the title will be thrashed out.
If the defending champions beat Brighton they will have won 98 points and cannot be caught by Jürgen Klopp side.
It took City 70 minutes before Kompany scored the goal, leaving fans biting their nails and Liverpool supporters hoping.
Pep Guardiola’s side would become the first club to secure back-to-back Premier League titles since rivals Manchester United in 2007-08 and 2008-09.
The side leading this season’s Premier League has changed 32 times, making it one of the closest title races in recent years.
